sol.id Presented at the Closing Ceremony of the International Year of Light

The sol.id exhibition was presented at the Closing Ceremony of the UNESCO International Year of Light and Light-based Technology in the Forum of the Rolex Learning Center at the EPFL.

sol.id Short Documentary Finished

http://solid.rayform.ch sol.id is an installation for the campus of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) that “paints" with sunlight, creating portraits of four luminary figures in science and design. Advanced computer algorithms precisely calculate the curved surface of four reflective metal panels that are then realized in physical form using high-precision digital fabrication technology. The panels redirect sunlight onto the ceiling of the main arch of the Rolex Learning Center at EPFL to reveal an ever-changing display of light. sol.id Light Show at the 2015 Museum Night of Lausanne at EPFL

At the Nuit des Musées on Saturday, September 26th 2015, we will have the first exposition of sol.id! We will be available to present and answer questions starting at 14:00, and as soon as it's dark there will be a light show with moving lights, colors, and effects.

As well, 18:00-19:00, there will be a panel about sol.id in front of the installation. Four guest speakers from various backgrounds will talk about their perspectives on the installation. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to come hear about the installation. If you can't be there, the conference will also be broadcast on radio NDM (90.4 FM).
